NY – Albany: New York State Department of Education Building – Lampposts

Flanking the entrance of the New York State Department of Education Office Building are two sculpted lampposts depicting seated children.
The New York State Department of Education Building, at 89 Washington Avenue, was designed in neoclassical by Henry Hornbostel and opened in 1912. It currently houses offices of the New York State Education Department and was formerly home to the New York State Museum and New York State Library. It was the first major in the United States building constructed solely as a headquarters for the administration of education.

Brew 2.0 – Beer Education

The Brew 2.0 event hosted by Molsons & organised by H&K included an excellent education session, a beer-tasting, food-pairing session, a tour of the micro-brewery space in the ACC and a couple of product introductions
I was one of the bloggers invited to participate and I was really impressed with the Beer Education portion of the evening. This is going to sound kind of snotty, but as a long-time beer drinker, home brewer and general drinking-enthusiast, I was impressed that I learned a couple of things.
